All students interested in financial aid should complete the annual FAFSA online application beginning October 1st of each year. Review the following steps to ensure that you understand all of the factors involved in receiving and retaining financial aid.
Complete the online Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) beginning October 1. Temple's annual FAFSA priority filing deadline is February 1. It is very important all undergraduate students file early and by no later than February 1 to ensure their grant funding and some scholarship funding is renewed each year. *Grant funding is limited and never guaranteed from year to year.
To receive and retain financial aid, students must meet certain eligibility requirements every year. Estimated financial aid awards are based on the information provided by students/parents on the FAFSA.
Financial aid offers begin to process mid-February for newly admitted undergraduate students and in mid-June (after spring grades) for returning undergraduate and all graduate students. Once our aid offers begin for the new aid year, the financial aid process runs every week. After receiving the financial aid offer in the Cost and Aid Tab of the TUportal, students can choose to accept, reduce or decline Federal Student Loans and/or Work Study within Self Service Banner.
