The 2027-28 Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) is going to open soon! Temple University's priority deadline is February 1, so please make sure to submit the application as soon as possible!
What You Can Do Now
Students and families can prepare for the upcoming FAFSA by familiarizing themselves with the FAFSA process:
- Check out "Who's the Parent" Tool to help determine which parent should contribute their information to the FAFSA
- Set up your FSA ID: There is now a real-time match with the Social Security Administration, applicants who have a Social Security number can create their FSA ID and complete their FAFSA on the same day instead of waiting three days.
- Review the Tips for Completing the FAFSA Accurately
- Check Out the Federal Student Aid YouTube Channel: Updated videos to help students and families understand the importance of the FAFSA form, who is a FAFSA contributor, and what happens after submitting the form.
Starting with the 2026-27 year, Pennsylvania students enrolled a Pennsylvania public and non-public schools must file the FAFSA before completing high school. Pennsylvania's state deadline is May 1 for PHEAA's programs - so by filing in time for Temple's February 1 deadline, you file in time for PHEAA!
